Video Work
Here, you'll find the video productions that I have been a part of.
Flicker - S1E1 "12:4"
This was a very fun project to work on. It started as a writing project for class. I along with my two partners created 5 short teleplays for a drama television show. We enjoyed writing the series so much that we decided to film the first episode as part of Alex's senior project.

Over the next few months we held production meetings and casting calls. We gathered together cast and crew members and set a date for production. Finally, over spring break, instead of going to beach, we stayed in Lynchburg, Va. to shoot the entire episode over five days. It was nineteen degrees the first day, the wind was blowing constantly, and all of our filming was either outside or in a building with no heating. It got a little warmer as the week went on, and we got everything done ahead of time by the last day.

My main two partners were Daniel Kinney and Alex Manzek. Daniel came up with the original concept for the show and also directed the episode. Alex Manzek was the producer, DP, and editor. I wrote the teleplay for the episode and filled the roles of script supervisor and 1st AD during filming.

The screenplay for this episode can be read over on my writing page.
Akoo's Story - testimonial
This was one of my group projects for my Intermediate Video Production class at Liberty University.

The assignment was to do a testimonial video with appropriate b-roll. Just about everything that could go wrong with this project went wrong. First, I discovered on the day of shooting that whoever gave me the cameras didn't turn one of them off and gave me two of the same wrong chargers. So we were down to two cameras, one with only 50% battery. Then, our location that we had planned on using was cut off, so we had to film in front of a busy highway, which meant lots of takes and editing. But even with the problems, the video still turned out pretty well.

I set up and ran the Sony FS5 cameras for the interview session and recorded all of the b-roll footage. We used a condenser mic on a boom pole and a lav for backup plugged into an H4N Pro for our audio. For additional lighting, we used a reflector to bounce sunlight onto the subject.

My partners on this project were Josh Chen (lighting), Kelsi Holstein (talent coordination), and Lanelle Fuller (audio).
Why Open Porch? - promotional
This was part of my team's final project in our Introduction to Video Production class at Liberty University. The full version, which was a documentary and has been unfortunately lost, was featured in a later class by a different professor. We cut this shorter version out as a promo to say thank you to the owner of the restaurant for letting us interview him.

Personally, I wrote the initial script, conducted the interview, and edited a small portion of the video. We all worked on the videography and audio. Shot on Panasonic GH4.

My partners on this project were Michael Slater and Nick Hamilton.
Christians4Freedom - Super Tuesday promo
This was one of the first videos my team created for our Introduction to Video Production class at Liberty University. We created it as a promo for the club of one of the members of the team.

Personally, for the production, I helped set up the lights and monitored the H4N during filming. We all worked on the videography. Shot on Panasonic GH4.

My partners on this project were Michael Slater and Nick Hamilton.
Procrastination - short film
This was the first project I completed for my Intermediate Video Production class. The point of the project was to tell a story entirely visually and without sound.
As this was meant to be a solo project, I did every part of this, including writing the script (which you can read over on writing page), filming, directing the talent, and editing. The only thing I didn't do was act in it myself. Shot on a Canon C100.

Brittany Specht was my talent for this video.
