Writing
Here you'll find examples of the different kinds of writing and publishing that I do.
Deep Hollow - Pilot
"After moving to a small town in Vermont, a teenage boy uses his special dragon abilities to fight supernatural evils along with a feisty Irish-American boy with similar powers and a genius girl with an eidetic memory."
>>>
I've had the general concept of Deep Hollow running around in my brain for years. I wrote down the list of episode titles and a short description of each episode in probably 2014. But in 2017, I had a class where we had to write an extra short script, and I decided to go way overboard and actually write the pilot episode. I had a ton of fun writing the script, and I would love to do more with the series in the future. I actually wrote the second episode of Deep Hollow as a novella for my senior portfolio class. That will be up on Wattpad as soon as I finish the novelization of the first one.

Flicker - Pilot
"Three friends come back from a no-tech camping trip to find that the world has changed forever in the wake of an EMP attack."
>>>
Flicker was one of my favorite projects that I've ever worked on. It was conceived originally in a dramatic television show writing class. My partner Daniel Kinney came up with the initial concept. Then my other partner Alex Manzek and I created new characters and fleshed out the story with Daniel. I wrote the pilot episode, and then we continued from there. It ended up being a very fun story.

We eventually filmed the first episode, which can be watched on my video page.

The Lifeguard - Available on Amazon
"A headstrong young boy goes to summer camp with his best friend and plans on having the time of his life, but then he meets a lifeguard who seems determined to ruin his fun."
>>>
This was a story, which, if I'm being honest, I wrote to see if I could make people cry. I have actually been fairly successful. I was lifeguarding at a summer camp at the time, and I also wanted to write a story about the type of kid that I dealt with on a daily basis. The Lifeguard was what came of that.

Technically speaking, the story is a novelette, but I didn't know that word when I wrote the story, and have since decided to keep it titled as is. I designed the cover using InDesign for a class assignment my sophomore year at Liberty.

Available on Amazon for the Kindle for $0.99.
Dark Ties - Available on Wattpad

"Jade Dark is a young mutant who has cut ties with everyone she cared about. When she gets a surprise call from her sister, she will have to make a choice that could affect the rest of her life. Will she rejoin her family one last time, or will she opt to stay safe and stay hidden? Secrets are exposed and loyalties are tested in this supernatural story of family and love."
>>>
I'm a huge fan of science fiction in general and the superhero genre in particular. I don't remember exactly where I got inspiration for this one, but I really liked the idea of pitting superhuman and non-super family members against each other.

I created the cover using Microsoft word before I learned to use InDesign.

Procrastination - Short film
"A students wakes up on a lazy off-day, realizing that her big script is due soon. She'll have to fight against writer's block and her own laziness to turn it in on time."
>>>
I wrote this very short script for my Intermediate Video Production class at Liberty University. The goal of the project was to tell a story visually, without sound. The actual video ended up being slightly different due to dietary restrictions of the talent and the time of day of the filming. You can watch the video over on my A/V page.

I created this cover In InDesign a few minutes ago on the fly because I realized that I didn't have a picture for this example. I used two still images from the video.
